For those who think Quinton “Rampage” Jackson isn’t motivated to fight Matt Hamill at UFC 130, you’re sorely mistaken. The former light heavyweight champion has discovered some bulletin board material to keep him focused.
It all started when Hamill made an appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’ and told Ariel Helwani that he was going to break Jackson’s will.
“I know I’m going to break his will – I know I’m going to beat Rampage,” Hamill confidently stated.
That single comment lit a fire under Jackson and has him chompin’ at the bit to get his hands on “The Hammer.”
“That really bugged me, that really amped up my training even more to the next level. I just feel like he should’ve said something else instead of that,” Jackson told Helwani.
Hamill’s comment irked Rampage so much that he even took a snapshot of himself to prove he won’t have any problems making weight later on today. Staying in shape between fights has always been an issue for Rampage, but not this time around.
“I’m one of those fighters, my mind is really strong. For a fighter to say something like that to me, I take that as a personal challenge,” Jackson continued. “I have free will and I know what free will is and I have a strong will. God gave me my will and can’t no man break it.
“He shouldn’t have chose those words.”
Rampage will have the chance to shove Hamill’s words down his throat Saturday night at UFC 130 inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
