Mike SwickMike Swick has been forced out of his return to the Octagon at UFC 134 due to injury. His opponent, Erick Silva, will remain on the UFC 134 fight card and the UFC is expected to name a replacement soon.

The UFC revealed the news earlier this evening.

Swick was scheduled to fight for the first time following a long layoff from a misdiagnosed stomach issue. Swick last fought at UFC 109 early last year, where he lost to Paulo Thiago via second-round D’arce choke.

Swick had been scheduled to fight David Mitchell at UFC: Fight for the Troops 2 back in January but the bout was scrapped after Mitchell sustained a back injury. When Swick does return he will be looking to end a two-fight skid after consecutive losses to Thiago and Dan Hardy.

No timetable was given for Swick’s return, but Swick recently revealed on Twitter that he injured his knee during wrestling practice. Swick tweeted:

“Yes rumors are true. I tore my knee today wrestling. Will get MRI results in am but Dr thinks torn MCL, ACL and possibly meniscus.Got my health and size back and was having best fight camp of my career then one small twist during training. Can’t catch a break sometimes. Really was excited about this fight. Don’t really have anything else to say I guess. Sorry guys thanks for the support.”
