So the politicians saved us from themselves by raising the debt ceiling limit last Tuesday by the dreaded deadline 8/2/2011. They said if we didn’t raise the limit, armadebtdon would occur and the stock markets would go down. They did raise it, so why did the stock market tank over 500 points yesterday?

I think most people realize that the theater show is over and that the underlying weakness in the economy still exists. Even though economists have declared the recession was officially over a year ago, most Americans know we are living in a Great Recession that continues to get worse.

I was never worried about the stock market since I have no stocks right now. However, I still enjoy watching the stock market go up and down. The rise in stock markets since the housing bust is disconnected from the real economy. The economy we are living in is not reflected in the stock markets at all.
