TUF 2 welterweight champion Joe Stevenson has been cut by the UFC. The move was not unexpected as Stevenson dropped his fourth straight fight to Javier Vasquez on the undercard UFC on Versus 4. Stevenson becomes the fourth TUF winner to be cut, joining fellow TUF winners Efrain Escudero, Travis Lutter, and Kendall Grove on the cut list.

Stevenson went 8-8 in his UFC career. Stevenson peaked at UFC 80, when he lost a bloody fight with BJ Penn for the UFC lightweight title. After that fight, Stevenson went 3-6 in the UFC. Stevenson dropped his last four fights, the last fight marked his first fight at featherweight.
