Donald Cerrone, Jamie Varner, Miguel Torres, and George Roop each scored $10,000 bonuses for their performances at Thursday's "WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan" event. Cerrone and Varner delivered another "Fight of the Night" in the sequel to their first meeting in 2009, while Torres earned "Submission of the Night" and Roop scored "Knockout of the Night"
Cerrone and Varner delivered another “Fight of the Night” in the sequel to their first meeting from 2009, as the lightweight rivals went toe-to-toe for much of three exciting rounds before Cerrone earned a unanimous decision win.
The former bantamweight champ Torres rebounded from back-to-back losses and earned WEC 51′s “Submission of the Night” with a second-round rear naked choke of Charlie Valencia.
Roop scored a highlight-reel head kick KO of “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung to claim the card’s “Knockout of the Night” award.
