Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar topped the $1.513 million payroll for Saturday’s UFC 121, taking home $400,000 despite losing the title to Cain Velasquez, who earned $200,000 for his main event win.
Other top earners included former champion Tito Ortiz ($250,000), who fell to Matt Hamill ($58,000) to remain winless since 2006, and welterweight contender Jake Shields ($150,000) for his debut win over Martin Kampmann ($27,000).
Lesnar also topped the UFC 121 medical suspensions, joining Shields and Diego Sanchez among those suspended up to six months.
