Twitter strikes again, as featherweight Cub Swanson used the social media platform to announce he’s pulling out of his UFC debut against Erik Koch after getting injured while training.
“So unfortunately I am pulled out of my fight [at] ufc132 due to I broke the whole left side of my face,” Swanson tweeted Thursday night.
Swanson opted not to explain what exactly went down other than he and his teammates always practice hard, which led to the injury as seen in the picture posted above.
“It happened in training, that’s all I’m gonna say. We train hard and shit happens. Sorry to all the fans who were excited about this fight,” he explained.
Swanson has alternated between wins and losses over his last four bouts.
The former WEC employee was scheduled to face Koch on the undercard of the UFC’s 4th of July show.
No word on who might replace Swanson.
