Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza will put the 185-pound title on the line against once-beaten Luke Rockhold at a September 10 Strikeforce event. "I feel healthy, I feel ready and I feel I have all the tools to take his belt. It's on," Rockhold wrote Sunday.
Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza will put the 185-pound title on the line against once-beaten Luke Rockhold at a September 10 Strikeforce event, which has not yet been officially announced.
“I feel healthy, I feel ready and I feel I have all the tools to take his belt. It’s on,” Rockhold wrote on Twitter.
Souza (14-2) defended the belt over Robbie Lawler in January after topping Tim Kennedy to win the title in August, while Rockhold (7-1), a product of American Kickboxing Academy, has won six-straight, including a first-round stoppages of Jesse Taylor and Paul Bradley.
The Sept. 10 Showtime-televised card also features lightweights Josh Thomson vs. Maximo Blanco.
