Nick Diaz May Fight Jason “Mayhem” Miller for a New Honda

Nick Diaz May Fight Jason “Mayhem” Miller for a New Honda

Strikeforce Welterweight Champ Nick Diaz

Remember that whole ‘Nick Diaz is scared, homie, to move up to middleweight and fight bitter rival Jason Miller’ thing? If you ask the Strikeforce welterweight champ, it’s sheer nonsense.

Speaking of cents, Diaz wants more zeros on his check to pay for the extra food he’ll need in order to pack on the additional pounds.

“I’d be happy to move up, [but] I’d like to get paid for it. I don’t like how people try to say that I didn’t accept the fight with Miller because I was too small. I never said anything about that,” Diaz emphatically stated during today’s conference call.

“I said if I’m going to go off track and screw with my whole season – it’s going to screw with my whole year, it’s going to screw with my capabilities of fighting at 170lbs – if I’m going to do that, I’d like to get paid in full.”

How much more would it take for you to settle your differences with “Mayhem” at middleweight?

“I’d like to get paid something extra. Double, triple, something crazy for me to do something extra that would screw up my weight to fight at that weight,” Diaz stated. “I’m not just doing it for free when I’d make the same money to fight at 170lbs. It’s twice as much work.”

While MMA’s bad boy injected much life into Thursday’s call, his level of irritation skyrocketed when discussing Miller’s reluctance to drop down a division to challenge for his crown.

“Tell his ass to get in (expletive) shape and make weight like I do. It’s (expletive) hard enough for me to make 170lbs. He acts like he wouldn’t be able to do it, he doesn’t want to work hard like me. That’s the problem,” Diaz yelled.

“He can work his ass off and make 170lbs or 175lbs or somebody can pay me a (expletive) couple million dollars and I’ll move up to 185lbs and fight him. Or he can quit getting (expletive) slapped in public, I know somebody’s got that (expletive) on video tape. That mother (expletive) doesn’t want to fight me.”

We’re not quite sure what clip Diaz is referencing. However, if anyone has access to the footage, please feel free to forward it along.

Diaz inked a multi-year extension with Strikeforce earlier this month. Unfortunately for the Gracie Jiu Jitsu-trained fighter, it wasn’t enough to pimp his ride and that’s why he’s in pursuit of a bigger payday.

“[Manny] Pacquaio’s making 40 (expletive) million dollars. [UFC champ Georges St-Pierre’s] making a couple million dollars. I’m over here (expletive) driving a Honda and my (expletive) breaking down? (Expletive) all you mother (expletive),” Diaz shared.

“I’ll fight at 185lbs. I’d just like to get paid.”

BTW, Daiz defends his welterweight belt against Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos on January 29th.
