Ryan Couture, the son of UFC hall of famer Randy Couture, has signed a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce and will make his professional debut at Strikeforce Challengers 10 on August 13 in Phoenix, Strikeforce announced today. Strikeforce Challengers 10 also features a four-woman 135-pound tournament, which is slated to include Miesha Tate, Hitomi Akano, Maiju Kujala, and Carina Damm, though Damm is in doubt for the event.
Ryan Couture, the son of UFC hall of famer Randy Couture, has signed a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce and will make his professional debut at Strikeforce Challengers 10 on August 13 in Phoenix, Strikeforce announced today.
Couture, who most-recently fought to a draw in March to finish his amateur career with a 5-1-1 record, will meet local newcomer Lucas Stark on the undercard of the Showtime-televised event, which is headlined by Joe Riggs vs. Louis Taylor.
Strikeforce Challengers 10 also features a four-woman 135-pound tournament, which is slated to include Miesha Tate, Hitomi Akano, Maiju Kujala, and Carina Damm
The Brazilian Damm is in doubt for the tourney as she struggles to obtain a visa, but a replacement has already been found and will be announced if Damm is unable to participate.
