The winner of next month's UFC 122 main event between middleweight contenders Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami is guaranteed a shot at the 185-pound title currently held by Anderson Silva. Before Marquardt or Okami get their title shot, Silva will put the belt on the line against Vitor Belfort in the main event of February's UFC 126.
The winner of next month’s UFC 122 main event between middleweight contenders Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami is guaranteed a shot at the 185-pound title currently held by Anderson Silva, the UFC recently announced.
Marquardt (30-9-2) has won 5 of 7 since coming up short against Silva in 2007, including a first-round TKO of Rousimar Palhares in his most-recent fight in September, while Okami (25-5) has earned back-to-back wins over Lucio Linhares and Mark Munoz to improve to 9-2 in the UFC.
