UFC hall of famer Matt Hughes and fellow former UFC champ Rich Franklin are targeting summer returns to UFC action.Hughes wants to return in late-summer or early-fall as he looks to end his career with a win, while Franklin is planning to fight in June or July.
Hughes (45-8) recently told HDNet’s Inside MMA that he’s planning to return to the Octagon at the end of summer or early fall as the 37-year-old is admittedly winding down his career, but wants to go out with a win after suffering a 21-second KO to BJ Penn in November.
Meanwhile, Franklin (28-6) told MMAjunkie he wants to fight again in June or July after dropping a decision to Forrest Griffin at February’s UFC 126, but is leaving his opponent up to the UFC at either middleweight or light heavyweight.
