Tito OrtizTito Ortiz will return to action against Matt Hamill at “UFC 121: Lesnar vs. Velasquez” on October 23 in Anaheim, California, UFC President Dana White today told MMA Fighting.

Ortiz (15-7-1) recently appeared as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter 11 opposite rival Chuck Liddell, but backed out of a June meeting between the former title-holders to undergo neck surgery. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” hasn’t won since defeating Ken Shamrock in 2006, most-recently dropping a split decision to Forrest Griffin in November in his first fight in 18-months.

Hamill (9-2) has officially won four-straight, but was on his way to suffering a first-round TKO to Jon Jones in December before illegal elbows allowed him to claim a DQ win. “The Hammer” bounced back in June with a majority decision over veteran Keith Jardine.

The UFC 121 fight card is headlined by heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez and also features Jake Shields vs. Martin Kampmann.
