Fresh off successful trips to the Octagon earlier this month, rising welterweights Thiago Alves and Rick Story will look to move closer to a shot at the 170-pound title currently held by Georges St-Pierre when they likely clash at a May 2011 UFC event, according to MMAWeekly.
Fueled by a new diet, Alves (19-6) returned to contender form and rebounded from back-to-back losses with a unanimous decision over John Howard at UFC 124, while Story (12-3) topped Johny Hendrick at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale for his fifth-straight win.
The Alves-Story matchup will likely go down at the UFC’s traditional Memorial Day weekend event on May 28 in Las Vegas, which is expected to be UFC 130 or UFC 131.
