I started this Music beta by Google a few days ago and I am only up to 1500 songs uploaded. I am averaging about 500 a day and I try to do the uploads when I am not surfing. Otherwise, it will slow down your connection.
I have tried the app that goes on my android phone and so far so good. I think I have about 7500-8000 songs according to the music manager application. There are about 200so far I couldn’t upload due to drm rights or something. Yes, some of the songs came from the apple itunes store, so you know what that means. It means no mp3 on any other unauthorized devices. Yeah, another uncool thing I don’t appreciate apple locking up my purchases.
Anyways, at the rate of 500 a day this process for me will probably take about 2 weeks total. After this part of it is done, I think I will be able to appreciate this cloud concept more. My music files total approximately about 50GB. Once this is done, I won’t have to worry about losing them if my hard drive fails or gets corrupted.
