Cain Velasquez says his recent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff “went well” and the UFC heavyweight champ is already back in the gym preparing for his first title defense when he returns to action in an estimated six to eight months.
“Surgery went well,” Velasquez wrote today on Twitter. “Back at Joe Grasso’s lifting legs . Best place to train.”
Velasquez will face the winner of Brock Lesnar vs. Junior dos Santos in his UFC return later this year after the former heavyweight champ and top-contender square off at UFC 131 after coaching on The Ultimate Fighter 13.
