Most hated Bachelor Brad Womack is the new Bachelor again

I guess ABC needs to boost its ratings. I am not sure if it will work or not. I stopped watching the franchise 3 seasons ago. Bachelor Brad was the first bachelor who didn’t give a final rose back in 2007. Since then they recycled runner ups as the next bachelorette, then the next bachelor, etc.

ABC just announced the new Bachelor, and as we all expected, it’s Brad Womack, a.k.a. The Most Hated Bachelor Ever, and this time he’s totally going to pick someone, okay? Seriously, no joke. Upon hearing the news, my mind was filled with myriad burning questions, including, “Wow, how pissed is Jake right now?” and “Why am I not surprised that Brad’s still single?” and “Why am I surprised that he lacks the judgment to realize that he did the right thing the first time around and that the only thing dumber than going on a reality show to find a wife is going on a reality show to find a wife TWICE???” and “Did he come crawling back to ABC or vice versa?”

My questions remain unanswered, except for the last one. According to ABC, Team Bachelorhad been in touch with Brad on and off since 2007 about possible appearances on variousTell All specials, and during those talks, sad Brad lamented that he always believed in “the process” and that seeing his brothers settle down and start families made him long for a second chance at the reality TV spotlight love. Seriously, how could ABC walk away from the opportunity to put this truly Toxic Bachelor back in the spotlight? The only thing better than having a Bachelor everyone loves is having a Bachelor everyone wants to punch in the face repeatedly while wearing lots of heavy rings. (See: record-high ratings for Jake’s season.) It’s not like execs at ABC need to worry about protecting the integrity of the franchise.

UFC Prelims, the UFC's one-hour preliminary card broadcast on Spike TV, will return for "UFC 123: Rampage vs. Machida" on Nov. 20 but will skip December's UFC 124. The UFC 123 fight card is headlined by former champs Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Lyoto Machida and BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes.

UFC Prelims, the UFC’s one-hour preliminary card broadcast on Spike TV, will return for “UFC 123: Rampage vs. Machida” on Nov. 20 but will skip December’s UFC 124, MMAjunkie reports.

UFC 123′s Gerald Harris vs. Maiquel Falcao, Karo Parisyan vs. Dennis Hallman, Matt Brown vs. Rory MacDonald, and Nik Lentz vs. Tyson Griffin are likely front-runners for the two-fight broadcast.

The UFC 123 fight card is headlined by former champs Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Lyoto Machida and BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes.

UFC Prelims debuted last September for UFC 103 and have continued throughout 2010, with UFC 123 being the last of 10 specials slated for the year following UFC 121 on Oct. 23.

(Updated) Paul Daley vs. Scott Smith Slug it Out at “Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu”

Strikeforce Welterweight Paul Daley

It didn’t take long for Strikeforce to put freshly-signed welterweight Paul Daley to work. Less than two after acquiring the controversial Brit, it appears the San Jose, California based promotion will pit him against veteran Scott Smith on December 4th inside the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Multiple sources confirmed the scrap with MMAWeekly.com on Wednesday.

Although Smith has competed at middleweight for much of his career, the slugger has agreed to lose some pounds in order to roll out the welcome wagon for Daley. According to the report, Smith was recently walking around at about 185 pounds and shouldn’t have any issues when it comes time to tip the scales.

Daley was fired by the world’s biggest MMA organization this past May for sucker punching Josh Koscheck at UFC 113. The slugger claimed to be “glad” because plenty of other doors would open up. In steps Strikeforce, as the UFC’s stateside rivals have just inked another former Octagon athlete.

He has since posted wins over Daniel Acacio and most recently Jorge Masvidal at “Shark Fights 13.” Daley then parlayed those victories into a six-fight contract with Strikeforce.

Smith has always been one of the sport’s most gracious and classy fighters. He holds a commendable 17-7 record, but has dropped two of his last three bouts. He was most recently seen getting knocked out by Cung Le at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum” this past June.

It was announced Monday that Renato “Babalu” Sobral would face the iconic Dan Henderson in the night’s featured contest.

Towering Dutch heavyweight Stefan Struve has signed a new four-fight contract extension with the UFC on the heels of rebounding with a decisive win at last month’s UFC 117, Alchemist Management announced today.

The 22-year-old 6’11″ Struve (20-4) scored UFC 117′s “Knockout of the Night” over newcomer Christian Morecraft to bounce back from a 39-second loss to Roy Nelson in March.

10 UFC fighters who participated in UFC 119 were the unlucky recipients of medical suspensions from the Indiana Gaming Commision. UFC 119 took place on Saturday, September 25 from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN.

Bellator 31 Fight Card Finalized

Thursday’s Bellator 31 event, scheduled to take place from the L’Auberge du Lac Casino & Resort in Lakes Charles, LA on September 30, has finalized a seven-fight lineup which includes a pair of women’s 115-pound tournament semifinal bouts, including Megumi Fuji vs. Lisa Ward while Zoila Frausto takes on Jessica Aguilar.

Below is the tentative fight card for Bellator 31:

The Versus-televised WEC 52 main card is now complete following the official addition of Eddie Wineland vs. Damacio Page to the Nov. 11 event in Las Vegas. The WEC 52 fight card is headlined by Urijah Faber vs. Takeya Mizugaki and also features Josh Grispi vs. Erik Koch, Brian Bowles vs. Wagnney Fabiano, and Chad Mendes vs. Javier Vazquez.

The Versus-televised “WEC 52: Faber vs. Mizugaki” main card is now complete following the official addition of Eddie Wineland vs. Damacio Page to the Nov. 11 event in Las Vegas.

The WEC 52 fight card is headlined by Urijah Faber vs. Takeya Mizugaki and also features Josh Grispi vs. Erik Koch, Brian Bowles vs. Wagnney Fabiano, and Chad Mendes vs. Javier Vazquez.
