Sonnen Suspended Indefinitely

Sonnen Suspended Indefinitely

It appears that Chael Sonnen‘s mouth has once again got him in some hot water.

The long-awaited comeback he has planned took a hit of sorts as the California State Athletic has suspended the middleweight contender indefinitely. If you were planning on doing some UFC betting on Sonnen, think again!

CSAC executive Keith Kizer has claimed that Sonnen had not been truthful in testimony in speaking to the board when saying that he had received approval for his elevated levels of testosterone after UFC 117. He had been suspended six months and fined $2,500 by the CSAC for elevated levels of testosterone following an appeal in which his one year suspension was reduced.

In addition, CSAC Executive Director George Dodd added:

“The commission wants to review his testimony, and they felt they need to suspend his license because they felt there was some false testimony given to the athletic commission when he appeared back in December. That way Chael can come explain himself.

Obviously, there were comments made during that commission meeting that have come up to be false, and so we’re going to review those, as well.”

In addition, he was sentenced in April to two years of probation, fined $10,000 and had his state’s realtor license revoked for the charge of money laundering.
