Koch, Swanson Re-booked For UFC 132

Erik Koch and Cub Swanson were to have originally fought in a bout in March at UFC on Versus 3, but Swanson was forced out. But a healthy Swanson is back and he gets his original opponent back.

According to UFC officials, Koch and Swanson have been re-booked for UFC 132: Cruz vs. Faber II; the event is scheduled to take place on July 2 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Swanson enters the bout with a 5-3 record, coming from his time in the WEC. His last three victories received “Fight of the Night” honors, including a narrow win over Mackens Semerzier at WEC 52.

On the other hand, Koch made a good start with an impressive first-round knockout of Rapahael Assuncao at UFC 128 and would earn a “Knockout of the Night” award; he previously earned the same award in his last WEC appearance – a first-round KO of Francisco Rivera at WEC 52.

With the rebooking of these combatants, UFC 132: Cruz vs. Faber is as follows:

  • Melvin Guilliard vs. Shane Roller
  • Dennis Siver vs. Matt Wiman
  • Evan Dunham vs. George Sotiropoulos
  • Erik Koch vs. Cub Swanson
  • Ryan Bader vs. Tito Ortiz
  • Wanderlei Silva vs. Chris Leben
  • B.J. Penn vs. TBA
  • Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber
