The apple ipod touch was the gadget that got me interested in smartphones. I really wanted an iphone when they came out, but when i saw the monthly plan coupled with the data plan I knew I just couldn’t justify the purchase against my budget. Fortunately, the ipod touch could do everything I wanted it to do with the exception of make calls and take pictures.
Enter today’s latest ipod touch and that is no longer the case. You can take pictures, and if you wanted to you could make skype calls via the wifi. I can confirm that for you. The capacity is amazing at both 32 gb and 64gb which will last you forever. I have a large music collection and it wouldn’t fill that up.
The other thing I like about the ipod touch is it has the same access to all the apps that the iphone and ipad does. My wife installed Angry Birds for Rio and it worked smoothly. Actually smoother than my android phone. What can I say, that is a fun and addicting game for both of us. On top of the apps, this gadget will allow you to check your emails, facebook, twitter, and a whole lot of other applications. The newest application is “facetime” where you can videochat with your friends.
There is a new device that even allows your ipod touch to become a gadget that will get cell phone data and tether your other gadgets called the Peel. That means when you don’t have access to wifi, your ipod can act as a modem for 3g data. That’s technology for you.
