Although UFC 128 is a couple of months away, they have secured a pair of middleweights for the fight card as Nick Catone and Dan Miller have verbal agreements in place for a proposed bout.
UFC 128 is scheduled to take place on March 19 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, which will feature a heavyweight bout between Mauricio Rua and Rashad Evans as the main event.
The Miller vs. Catone bout will likely replace the scrapped matchup between Yoshihiro Akiyama and Chael Sonnen, although at the time of this posting, it is not clear whether it will make the event’s televised card.
Catone hasn’t fought in 13 months as he has been fighting the injury bug; he was due to fight John Salter at UFC 113 but a back injury shelved him. About four months later, Catone would be injured again prior to a bout with Thomasz Drwal.
Meanwhile, Miller hs built some steam after three consecutive losses; his most recent action included a victory over Salter at UFC 118 followed by a split decision win over Joe Doerksen at UFC 124.
With the Catone vs. Miller bout likely to take place, UFC 128 looks like this:
