After being out of action for nearly a year following back-to-back losses, welterweight Mike Swick will look to get back on track when he’s expected to return against David Mitchell at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 (UFC Fight Night 23) on Jan. 22 in Fort Hood, Texas, according to MMA Weekly.
Swick (14-4) dropped a unanimous decision to Dan Hardy last November to miss out on a title shot, then suffered a second-round submission to Paulo Thiago in February before being sidelined since while he recovered from a mis-diagnosed stomach disorder that had held him back.
Mitchell (11-1) dropped his UFC debut to T.J. Waldburger last month at UFC Fight Night 22 following 11-straight wins, including 7 first-round stoppages.
The UFC Fight for the Troops 2 fight card also includes Melvin Guillard vs. Yves Edwards, Matt Mitrione vs. Tim Hague, DaMarques Johnson vs. Mike Guymon, and Charlie Brenneman vs. Amilcar Alves.
