Fresh off of recent wins, rising welterweights Carlos Condit and Chris Lytle are expected to go toe-to-toe early next year.

Sportsnet.ca first reported the matchup for UFC 126, but Condit’s agent, Malki Kawa, said discussions are ongoing and that the fight likely wouldn’t take place at the Feb. 5 event if it is finalized.

Condit (26-5) scored a first-round knockout of fellow contender Dan Hardy last month at UFC 120, while Lytle (30-17-5) avenged a loss to Matt Serra with a unanimous decision over the former champ in September.
