Rising welterweights Carlos Condit and Chris Lytle are expected to go toe-to-toe early next year. First reported for UFC 126, Condit's agent, Malki Kawa, says discussions are ongoing, but that the fight likely wouldn't take place at the Feb. 5 event.
Fresh off of recent wins, rising welterweights Carlos Condit and Chris Lytle are expected to go toe-to-toe early next year.
Sportsnet.ca first reported the matchup for UFC 126, but the fight now appears likely for UFC 127 on Feb. 27 in Australia.
Condit (26-5) scored a first-round knockout of fellow contender Dan Hardy last month at UFC 120, while Lytle (30-17-5) avenged a loss to Matt Serra with a unanimous decision over the former champ in September.
Now riding a three-fight win streak, Condit recently turned down a matchup with Jon Fitch, who will instead face Jake Ellenberger, saying he wanted more time off and proposing a matchup with Lytle, who has won four-straight.
