Roy Jones Jr. Taking Roy Nelson, Zuffa to Court
As if Zuffa LLC needs to visit yet another coutroom, it appears that according to Fighters Only, Roy Jones and his promotional company Square Ring has moved to sue the UFC (Zuffa LLC in this case) and Roy Nelson.
The basis of this lawsuit is that the UFC and Nelson “allegedly†conspired to default on Nelson’s existing contract with Square Ring.
Nelson competed in March 2009 on a boxing/MMA fight card promoted by Square Ring named March Badness; Square Ring alleges that there was a match clause included in the contract that Nelson signed to appear on said card.
Apparently, Zuffa LLC is coming under fire because of recruiting Nelson “on the down-lowâ€Â while being aware of Nelson’s contract with Square Ring.
